get to know us & FAQ!

We’re Josh & Ali, together for 5 1/2 years and doing videography & photography together for 3. Our hearts are in travel and weddings, so you can find us either knocking out a National Park or filming a wedding on the weekends! We are huge dog lovers (we have a Bernese Mountain Dog named Grizzly), foodies, and one of the best parts of our jobs is meeting our couples and making a forever memory. why videography?

Not getting a videographer has been the #1 regret for couples post-wedding in polls and questionnaires for many years now, so we recommend to all engaged couples to thoroughly look over their options for photography and videography for their big day. And while photographs freeze instants of time, videos add depth and life to the memories, allowing couples to relive their wedding day in detail. And, as many of you know, wedding days are one of the fastest days of your life that we now have the technological capability and gift of reliving!

One of my favorite parts of our wedding video is hearing my Dad’s voice saying he loves me and my childhood nickname, and someday future generations may be able to see and experience that video. It allows us to see the way Josh smiled and laughed during the day, his sweet faces during our vows, and the voices of our sweet family and friends. Videography allows you to hear and see your emotional exchange of vows for the first time, to see the groom’s face change as the bride walks down the aisle, and the sights, the sounds, and the emotions that preserve not only what happened but how the day felt. If these things are important to you, we no doubt recommend videography for you! Contact us on our home page, contact page, or see our FAQ below!

 FAQs

  • Videography is one of the most expensive jobs to have: from tens of thousands of dollars of equipment to editing subscriptions, licenses, song and copyright costs, insurance costs, and video delivery and upload website costs, it is a common misconception that videographers are extremely expensive for their practice. The average cost of a wedding videographer is $3,000 - $5,000 in 2024.

  • All wedding highlight videos include 4K footage, drone footage (weather permitting), crisp Tascam audio, and more. Drone footage is of no extra cost.

  • We are a duo-team, so most, if not all, of our weddings will have two videographers!

  • We require all clients who wish to have Genesis Videography as their videographer to review and sign a contract. This ensures both parties are secured and protected financially, protected with services, and ensures a solidified date. We will unfortunately not take on clients who will not sign a contract.

  • Please contact us by filling out a form on our website! Price will depend on your date, hours, and more. We would love to send you our package information!

  • Please note that when asking a videographer for “raw footage,” you are asking about the raw individual files recorded by the camera. Raw footage is pale without editing (most videographers film in some kind of profile for post-editing), audio is disconnected (many times the speaker cannot be heard), and is not edited between angles. Unfortunately, there are cases of wedding couples paying thousands of dollars for raw footage, which is not edited or clean footage.

Genesis Videography offers all couples additional “extra” footage in the place of raw footage. In other words, Genesis Videography offers professional edits of additional footage such as full ceremony edits, speeches, dances, vows, etc. for an additional cost.

Genesis Videography currently sells extra footage at a fraction of a cost as compared to other companies as we believe every couple should be able to enjoy every part of their day. We would love to hear any questions you have about our extra footage packages!
